At 33, I was diagnosed with Stage 4 HER2-positive Inflammatory Breast Cancer, a rare and aggressive form of cancer. What started as a life changing diagnosis challenged me to learn how to live alongside uncertainty and find my voice. Today, I’m a proud “Stage 4 thriver,” storyteller, and patient advocate, sharing the funny, the hard, and everything in between. Through storytelling and creative programming, I’m working to change the conversation around what it really means to live with cancer.
I speak openly about being diagnosed young and the realities that can come with cancer, including body image, relationships, mental health, work, identity, and rebuilding a meaningful life. Whether through a keynote, panel, workshop, or creative project, my goal is to create honest conversations that educate, connect, and inspire people to take action.
With an estimated 2 in 5 Canadians expected to receive a cancer diagnosis in their lifetime, I believe we need more open conversations about what happens beyond the diagnosis. I want to help people recognize changes in their bodies, understand the realities of living with cancer, and feel better equipped to support themselves and the people they love.

Julia brings lived experience, humour, honesty, and practical insight to conversations about cancer, health, work, and life beyond diagnosis. Through keynotes, panels, workshops, and moderated conversations, she helps audiences move from awareness to understanding and from understanding to action.

Julia develops conversations, programs, and creative projects that make complicated or uncomfortable topics easier to explore. She brings together storytelling, lived experience, community-building, and years of experience turning ideas into engaging programs and experiences.
